NSBE-Birmingham Professionals Programs
Creative, engaging and interactive programs are the primary vehicles through which NSBE fulfills its mission to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community. We provide a variety of programs in the following core areas to support NSBE Professionals: Entrepreneurship, Technical Excellence, Professional Development, Community Impact, College Initiative, Pre-College Initiative and Chapter Development.
Technical business development, professional development units, license and certification exam review courses, engineering technical activity, youth outreach, and community outreach are among the wide array of resources available to NSBE Professional members through our various programs. By participating in any number of our programs each NSBE Professional is ensured an opportunity to reach extraordinary heights in their technical, professional and community endeavors. The value of NSBE Programs depends on active participation.
Additionally, the NSBE Professionals Programs Zone is calling upon the membership, particularly at the local chapter level, to develop innovative programs that will increase the value of being a NSBE Professional member, help fulfill the NSBE mission, coordinate and utilize professional skill sets, and most importantly excite and fulfill your chapter membership.
Thank you and welcome to NSBE-BHM Programs!

Future Engineers of America (FEA) Meeting
February 11, 2018 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Alabama Power Headquarters Building, 600 18th St N, Birmingham, AL 35203, USA
We hold monthly sessions between the months of September into May with our students during which we introduce vital skills that prepare them for engineering careers. These skills include public speaking, resume writing, and financial management just to name a few.
We also invite professionals representing various industries to present engineering disciplines such as electrical, civil, mechanical, and software engineering, etc. The students have opportunities at each meeting to engage in hands on activities pertaining to these aforementioned disciplines.
In addition we take several trips, typically three of four each year, to universities that offer engineering programs which allow our students to briefly experience college life and college campuses at the schools. Our unyielding efforts efforts and consistent engagement with these students influence and prepare many of them to pursue engineering careers.
Our FEA program is open to all high school student (grades 9-12) in the Birmingham and Birmingham metro areas and has traditionally been free of charge and will be for the foreseeable future. We welcome all interested students to join us to enlighten them about the world of engineering.
